Mixed climate is referred to as a climatologic condition in which several different wind phenomena coexist. In temperate countries at mid latitudes, it is typical the occurrence of three phenomena: extra-tropical depressions, thunderstorms and gust fronts. There is a very wide literature on the actions and effects associated with extra-tropical depressions, while the treatments related to thunderstorms and gust fronts are still very limited. The present research pursues a double aim: 1) the formulation of a homogeneous method for the evaluation of the dynamic response due to the actions induced by depressions, thunderstorms and gust fronts; 2) the formulation of a general method for the probabilistic evaluation of the design wind loading on structures subjected to the same phenomena.
