The aim of the project is to reframe the problem of power’s limits and constraints in relation with globalisation process. The analysis and the design of constraints in order to limit different forms of power recur frequently in the history of political thought. The so-called globalisation theory enables to better understand the boundaries of discretional and arbitrary political power (as well as economic or ideological power) together with the transformation of contemporary democracies, deeply influenced by supranational and global change. Concerning the articulation and time schedule of the research, the plan is the following: 1) the first year will be devoted to redefine the relationship between the power and the rules on the perspective of political and legal theory; 2) the second year will be devoted to the implementation of this analytical framework to the supranational level, focussing especially on globalisation and global governance theory.
