The perspective of deployment of pervasive and wireless systems for dense sensing and tracking services is clearly envisaged in the context of several application domains in Horizon 2020 (e.g. e.g. eHealth, ICT for food, Factories of the future). The Project GRETA, funded by MiUR of Italy, aims at developing a Networked Green RFID system, that relies on interconnected readers that connect to and localize sets of low-cost tags. This system also intends to rely on UWB trasmissions with backscattering modulation from tags. In this context a post-doctoral position is launched in order to cover the following topics:
definition and cross-layer modelling of architectures and protocols, with particular emphasis on the MAC layer, that support cooperative communications/interconnections in various scenarios, up to the multi-reader multi-tag context;
evaluation of impacts of synchronization and interference, along with evolution of techniques towards interference-aware networking
