European Research Council funded fellowship Low power e thermal aware per Memory Systems for multicore Platforms

The main scientific goal of this research plan is to develop and to model an high end memory system for multicore system on chip platforms , and some tuning techniques that allow fast prototyping that minimizes both hardware cost and power consumption, whereas it supplies enough bandwidth for such high memory hungry systems. To achieve these performance targets, memory and process needs to operate seamlessly, and the only available technology that enables this improvement is the 3D heterogeneous integration.Therefore, the whole memory system must be co-designed in order to maximize the performances both due to vertical integration, and due to cluster oriented approach.In addition to energy savings policies, the controller must make the best use of resources, avoiding any waste of bandwidth, and allocating traffic in the most efficient way.
