Modeling, diagnostics and design of thermal plasma and atmospheric pressure cold plasma systems for the production and functionalization of nanomaterials

Investigation of thermal plasma processes and atmospheric pressure non-thermal plasma processes for the production and functionalization of metallic and ceramic nanopowders. Thermo-fluid-dynamic modelling of direct current (DC) plasma torches for nanopowder synthesis, including simulation of trajectory and thermal history of solid precursor injected downstream the plasma torch and modelling of nanopowder nucleation and growth. Diagnostics of thermal plasmas processes for nanopowder production. Modelling and experiments for the production of nanopowders and carbon nanomaterials by means of radio-frequency thermal plasma torch (RF), including testing of techniques for nanopowder “seeding” in reaction chamber. Design and development of atmospheric pressure non-thermal plasma processes for the in-flight functionalization of nanopowders synthesized by means of RF thermal plasma systems.
