Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease: from the genetic and clinical non-invasive diagnosis of NASH and significant fibrosis, to the evaluation of systemic damage.

Please note that the job is no longer active!

Non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common form of chronic liver disease in western coutries. We have previously investigated the tight junction disruption and intestinal permeability in a cohort of NAFLD patients and we found an increased intestinal permeability associated to higher prevalence of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and to histological severity of NAFLD.

The aim of the study will be to assess in patients with NAFLD the effect of Mediterranean diet on: intestinal permeability, integrity of tight junction, gut microbiota to search for factors of progression of liver damage and new biomarkers.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
