Development of bioassays for the assessment of ecotoxicity in relation to REACH and to emerging contaminants

In the context of industrial research conducted within “CIRI Energia e Ambiente”, the grant recipient: Will implement bioassays indicated by the Regulations (EC) n. 1907/2006 (REACH) and n. 440/2008 or consistent with the provisions of such regulations and standardized by ISO and / or OECD (Daphnia magna, Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, Danio rerio, Eisenia andrei). Will work toward the certification of good laboratory practice for these methods in accordance with Directive 2004/10/EC. Will work toward development of new biological assays for the assessment of long-term toxicity to sediment organisms, with particular reference to methods based on reproductive endpoints. Will perform Ecotoxicological assays on innovative materials and emerging contaminants (nanoparticles, pharmaceuticals, endocrine disruptors, Pyrolysis products).
