Parkinson's disease can be recognized in exposure to neurotoxic an important risk factor, especially in subjects with genetic predisposition. The exposure is considered to be a function of thè work context that thè generai living environment. Since this can be reduced through prevention activities, it is clear thè importance of research in these areas, in order to recognize: a) environmental factors responsible for toxicity, b) what are thè protective levels of exposure for thè population. The province of Brescia is among thè most industrialized areas of Italy and has both work and environmental exposures to heavy metals (manganese), pesticides and PCBs. The second step (12-24 months) includes thè prosecution of thè first step. The third step (24-36 months) thè conclusion of steps I and II and processing of data.
