Expeditious techniques for data acquisition and digital reproduction of artistic and archaeological artifacts

The purpose of the research is the optimization of the processing pipeline from the 3D acquisition with active or passive techniques (laser scanner or SFM) of archaeological and artistic objects. The research will aim to minimize the production time of each single item with the goal of making possible the digital reproduction of a whole museum collection in relatively short time, including the 3D models adaptation for the web. In addition the candidate will developed a workflow including the addition of descriptive metadata, suitable for minimizing the total time needed for producing the final digital artifacts.
