The aim of this project is to develop a rapid diagnostic test for Incontinentia Pigmenti (IP), a X-linked dominant disorder caused by mutations in the IKBKG gene. At present a diagnostic method able to detect the common IP mutation is in use, nevertheless in 27% of cases the mutation still remains elusive. The new diagnostic test will be able to detect recurrent and non-recurrent genomic alterations by Real-time experiments.
