An imbalance in the excitement / inhibition is associated with epilepsy and neuropsychiatric disorders such as autism. The genetics of epilepsy and autism has focused on mutations in genes of the synapse. Among these, SYN2 is a gene that predisposes to epilepsy and SYN1 has a causal role in epilepsy and autism. The synapsins (Syns) are synaptic vesicle associated proteins important in neuronal development, synaptic transmission and plasticity. The aim of the project is to investigate the role of Syns in the dynamics of the release of neurotrasmettiotore at the level of excitatory and inhibitory synapses and connections between defects in the dynamics of release and synchronization of neuronal populations, causing hyperexcitability of the network associated with epilepsy and autism Knowledge of Italian language.
