Characterization and synthetic exploitation of oxidoreductases

In the frame of this research project, the synthetic exploitation of oxidoreductases (used, if needed, in tandem with hydrolases) will be investigated in order to support the enantioselective synthesis of chiral synthons, useful intermediates for the preparation of pharmaceutical compounds, as well as the selective derivatization of bioactive natural products. Besides to these activities related to biocatalysis, the project will require the elaboration of chromatographic protocols with chiral columns (GC and/or HPLC), in order to evaluate the enantiomeric excess of the enzymatic reactions.
