Turning obstacles into opportunities-Early interventions for developing Children's Bully Proofing Abilities

Please note that the job is no longer active!

Bullying can cause a tremendous amount of stress, fear and anxiety in children. Even aggressive children, and not only the victims, have shown major problems during development concerning the regulation of behavior, with externalizing symptoms that frequently are associated with delinquent behavior in adolescence. It is important that the prevention of bullying begins in early childhood, a period in which children learn important social and emotional regulation skills . The research project will involve children of kindergarten and primary school, with the aim of sensitizing teachers and parents on the topic of bullying, and will support children of preschool and primary school,in a program to prevent bullying by the acquisition of social skills such as social problem-solving skills, emotional competence, prosocial behaviors. The project is part of an internationa research project funded by the Eu Commission.
