Governing Fear. Obedience, Sociability and Security in Montaigne, Lipsio and Charron political Thought

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The research will focus on the political thought of Montaigne, Lipsio and Charron, with specific reference to the theme of passions and, above all, the passion of fear. The work articulates in two ways: from one side, the study of the historical and political dimension of fear and, from the other one, this study crosses the discipline of social sciences that in modern and contemporary times have elaborated the topic of fear in the rhetoric of securization and immunization. This second branch of research is inscribed in the activities promoted by the project FARB 2013. The project implies the construction of an interdisciplinary network of scholars of social sciences who are interested in innovating the analysis of the transformations in the forms of social subjects' self-representation and in the models of government of risk and security.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
