Impact of physical activity on healthy aging: multidisciplinary analysis of mechanisms and outcomes.

The main objective of the research will be to carry out the screening of lysosomal enzymes, hydrolases and proteases, during the aging either of subjects cognitively intact or affected by Alzheimer disease, as well as in normal subjects and osteoarthritis (OA) once.

The study also include the analysis of regulatory molecules such as microRNS and IncRNAs in order to identify possible mechanisms of regulation of their expression.

Moreover our aim will be also the screening of lysosomal enzymes activities and related regulatory molecules in the elderly, in patients with osteoarthritis and patients with Alzheimer’s disease after specific exercise programs. Overall this project will identify potential target molecules to monitor the aging process in healthy subjects as well as predictive of progression of age-related diseases like Alzheimer’s or OA.
