The Smart[er] Citizens Program is a multi-tier, multi-year academic collaboration between the Graduate School of Design (GSD) at Harvard University, USA, and the University of Bergamo (UNIBG), Italy. The Program is conceived of as a 16-month collaboration between students and faculty from both universities.
Smart[er] Citizens addresses the emerging areas of Smart[er] Health and Smart[er] Learning in the
context of the city of Bergamo. The program involves interdisciplinary research. Smart[er] Citizens investigates - both theoretically and practically – how new media and immersive, novel computational technologies can contribute to address pressing questions of health and learning through the lens of the design of smart[er] artifacts, architectures and infrastructures, as well as
technologically retrofitting or repurposing our built environments.
