A structural genomics approach for the study of Erwinia amylovora virulence and pathogenesis

The winner will study the enzymes amsB, amsD, amsE, amsI involved in the biosynthesis of amylovoran in Erwinia amylovora.

He/she shall characterize the carbohydrates produced from these enzymes by activity assays and experiments to be carried out in collaboration with Professor Field (John Innes centre Norwich UK) and try to reconstruct the biosynthetic pathway in vitro.
