Genotypes identification with High Nutrient Efficiency for a sustainable agriculture

Please note that the job is no longer active!

Although, nitrogen is an essential nutrient for the growth and development of plants,it represents a major source of pollution in aquatic ecosystems and drinking water. In this context, this research aims to select genotypes able to combine the high nitrogen use efficiency(NUE)with high plant productivity for a sustainable agriculture.Morpho-physiological techniques (image analysis of root system, nitrogen uptake activity,plasma-membrane enzyme activity) along with advanced methods for the analysis of ion fluxes by using ion-selective microelectrodes (ISM),and molecular approaches (gene expressions of nitrogen transporters and pm H+-ATPase)will be carried out. These approaches will allow to select genotypes characterized by high NUE and to identify morpho-physiological and molecular traits underlying this efficiency. These knowledge will be useful for future assisted breeding programs.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
