Internationalization of English culture: redefinition of Britishness in black British literature and visual arts

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The aim of this research is to consider the socio-cultural phenomenon of Black Britain, not seen as a mere insertion of black presences into a British cultural space, but as a redefinition of Britishness itself. This is to be seen as a Cultural Studies project, choosing an interdisciplinary approach to demonstrate how black British literature and arts act upon Britishness both as forms of disobedience and as combinatory forces allowing a co-presence of different and even diverging elements.
In order to answer to the need to enlarge to human sciences the European programme HORIZON 2020, according to the inter-disciplinary drivers proposed by the initiative European Perspectives of the University of Bologna, the research will take advantage of a series of links and a net of scholars throughout Europe.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
