Characterizing the Euclid surveys of galaxy clusters

Please note that the job is no longer active!

Euclid is an approved Medium Class mission of the ESA Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 programme. Euclid is a survey mission designed to investigate the nature of dark energy, dark matter and gravity by tracking their observational signatures on the geometry of the universe and on the cosmic history of structure formation. Its wide and deep surveys, optimized for weak lensing and clustering studies, will map the large-scale structure over a cosmic time covering the last 10 billion years, more than 75% the age of the Universe, allowing, as a by-product, the construction of large catalogues of galaxy clusters up to high redshifts.
The main goal of the work planned in this project is to develop the tools to estimate the selection function, the completeness, the level of purity, the limiting thresholds, the S/N levels in Euclid-like cluster surveys. This will be done using both mock catalogues and existing real cluster data.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
