The general scope of research concerns the post-earthquake reconstruction of historical small towns. It is a matter of great importance and relevance in Italy, constantly repeated by the inevitable recurrence of disasters. Nevertheless, it is disturbing to find that as yet there is no general framework to deal with the reconstruction, from a technical and legal point of view. It seems basic, then, analyze and systematize the wealth of experience consists of the Plans of reconstruction developed in recent years, for different reasons and in different ways, to contribute to the definition of a national protocol that finally fixed and clarify procedures and tools for the reconstruction of the historical centers. In this sense, the vicissitudes of reconstruction of the historical small towns of the crater of the L'Aquila earthquake, takes a particular interest in the major acquisitions, technical and regulatory, offers evolution of speech
