Data mining techniques for the study of plasma evolution phenomena in fusion devices.

Experimental fusion reactors presents several issues concerning the magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium and the plasma confinement. With a view to applying these reactors in the energy field becomes crucial to develop models of the evolution of some phenomena from the experimental data by means of data mining techniques. In fact, many phenomena in present experimental machines are not yet fully understood and first principles models are not available. The researcher will address problems of disruption classification and prediction in tokamak machines, modeling of plasma instability such as Edge Localized Modes, etc. applying data mining techniques. Moreover, he will create the databases needed for the implementation of such systems
