The effects of aerobic exercise on cortical plasticity and learning in healthy adults

Please note that the job is no longer active!

This project aims ad studying the mechanisms of cortical plasticity in the living human brain and how they can be manipulated through physical exercise (PE). The proposed studies will reveal important insights on plasticity and its relationship with behavior, providing a clear theoretical frame for healthy lifestyles. In this project we will employ a new approach involving learnings paradigms and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques (NIBS) to investigate the neurophysiological processes underlying the effects of PE. Our results will highlight simple and effective strategies that can foster a healthy aging
