European Research Council funded fellowship LanGeLin Project: comparison between genetic, linguistic and cultural variation in Eurasiatic populations

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The project aims to solve the gene-culture congruence issue by comparing a representative selection of languages/populations from different geographical areas (Europe, Arabian Peninsula, Middle East, Iran, India, New Zealand), classified by means of a novel syntactic method (Longobardi and Guardiano 2009) and of the most updated genomic data.
The research will be structured according to the following activities: A) Sampling of biological material from target populations; B) Collection of archaeological, historical and anthropological material relevant to sampled populations; C) Parametrization and classification of selected cultural variants in target areas; D) Quantitative and biostatistical analysis of patterns in the archaeological record; E) Comparative phylogenetic and phylogeographic analyses of genetic and cultural data.
All the aforementioned activities will be conducted according to those schedule within the LANGELIN project (FP7 Ideas, ERC2011, AdG295733).

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
