Study of transcriptional regulation in response to environmental changes (iron, nickel) in Helicobacter pylori.

Principali attività di ricerca:

1) Dissezione mediante ChIP-seq del circuito di regolazione metallo-dipendente di Fur/NikR, del regulone di HP1043 e del circuito di risposta a stress formato da HspR ed HrcA, nonché la validazione in vitro di alcuni casi esemplari;
2) Analisi trascrizionale dei geni codificanti per metallo-proteine, metallo-enzimi e chaperonine associate (hyd, hyp, oor), e proteine chelanti il ferro coinvolte nell'infezione, nella virulenza e nell'antibiotico-resistenza;
3) Analisi della regolazione trascrizionale dei promotori dell'isola di patogenicità cag e la caratterizzazione funzionale di cncR1, un piccolo RNA non codificante contenuto della stessa;
