The project aims at studying continuities and transformations in the basic of enlightenment culture during the first half of the 19th century with regard to the problems of commerce, colonialism and civilization. The research will focus on French historical, political and economic literature 1780-1850. It will analyze French printed and archival sources.
Requested excellent mastery of written and spoken french language and very good knowledge of english and german languages.
