Nationwide Growth Of The Emilian Foodfarming Cooperation And Its Rooting In The South Of Italy: The Granarolo Group Case Study

Please note that the job is no longer active!

Our survey intends to retrace the settling and rooting in the South of the emilian foodfarming cooperative group Granarolo as a case study on the exporting of a peculiar growth model among the possible ones that either exploit an area or foster its development. We’ll examine, in particular, whether the emilian cooperation, reaching the South of Italy in the 80s, played a propulsive role in the modernization of the rural classes, as it did in Emilia in the 60/70s. We will focus on the producing members of the Group, which had already been changed by the trade trends in the 70s and was fully reshaped by its growth in the South. Recalling the evolutive steps of the agricultural enterprises that make today the social backbone of the Group, we may bring to light the encounter between the different enterprise cultures and the rural and social traditions of North and South Italy.
