Writing and art: artists’ autographs in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The present research represents the first stage of a wider project whose goal is to measure the relationship between art and writing as it appears in books, documents, mosaics, frescoes, paintings and icons during the Middle Ages and the early modern period. As part of such an ambitious investigation, it has been decided to deal at first with an aspect of great importance and which can be regarded as the basis of the entire research: the identification, census and study of the autographs of artists in medieval and Renaissance Europe and Byzantium. The census of autograph material will lead to the creation of a web-oriented database

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
