The group of Prof. R. J. Dwayne Miller (Max Planck Research Group for Structural Dynamics, Hamburg) has recently developed an extremely bright source of electrons capable of literally *lighting up atomic motions on the femtosecond timescale* (Gao et al Nature 2013).
