The main objective of the research is that of facing numerous algorithmic problems recently arisen in the analysis and design of social autonomous communication networks. In these networks, the complex social interactions among distinct entities, possibly having conflicting economical interests, such as service providers versus simple network users, ask for new theoretical models representing the consequences of an egoistic behavior of these entities. Internet is definitely the paradigmatic example of a social autonomous network, but new emerging communication platforms exhibit similar characteristics, like social platforms and peer-to-peer systems.
