Fellowship & Grant details

Fellowship posted by Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (23/05/2013 01.50)

Design and conduction of clinical trials which can lead to a better molecular and biological understanding of AML and ALL, a better disease classification, and to tailored diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

Please note that the job is no longer active!

Within this project, primary objectives are defined as the identification of genome-wide macro alterations, cryptic genomic aberrations and single nucleotide substitutions, and copy-number alterations in newly diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) by high-resolution single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) arrays and Next Generation Sequencing analysis (NGS).
Both these technologies allow to identify patient-related factors important for disease outcome, response to conventional chemotherapy and inter-individual differences in drug pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics related to drug exposure or to response to potential toxic drugs.
Final objective of this project is to lead to development of tissue preclinical studies and clinical trials involving pharmacogenomic diagnostic kit, resulting into a more rationale patient-oriented pharmacological approach.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
