use and testing of ancient varieties of fruit trees as ornamental, for the improvement of biodiversity in rural and urban areas

The student will need to investigate the methods of cultivation of ancient varieties of fruit plants, to understand the tolerance to disease and insects infestation, and the ability of survive in environment with important abiotic and biotic stress.
Should be taken into consideration also the managerial aspects of plants, evaluating the impact of technical aspects such as cultivation, pruning, management and productivity.
The student will be able to test different varieties of fruit trees in rural and urban areas, in gardens and parks in order to assess the possible use of these trees in green design.
