Use of PCR methods for the detection of Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) in Chronic myeloid leukemia patients treated with targeted therapies (Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors).

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The advent of the Bcr-Abl tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) for the treatment of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML), which act blocking the activity of the BCR-ABL oncogenic protein, has increased the use of the Molecular Biology techniques both for the diagnosis and for monitoring of the response to therapy. The purpose of this project is the detection of Minimal Residual Disease (MRD), by quantitative PCR method (real-time PCR) of the fusion BCR-ABL gene, in CML patients treated with this kind of new generation drugs and correlation with the response to therapy. The aim of this project is also to evaluate if there is a correlation between the BCR-ABL copy number at diagnosis and the response to a specific targeted therapy.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
