Swansea University Psychology PhD Studentship: The Neurogenetics of Gambling Addiction: A Multi-modal Neuroimaging Project

The main objective of this project is to explore the neural circuitry underpinning gambling-related cognitive processes in the context of gambling addiction, a growing societal problem in the UK (1% of the adult population).

The research activity is expected to run along three strands:

1. Determining the way that those addicted to substances or behaviours of abuse perceive the world differently (e.g. attentional bias and cue reactivity to addiction-relevant stimuli).
