3D scanning, data processing and visualization of 3D models. Virtual reconstruction of the original polychromy of 3D models based on scientific studies. Integration of textual and 2D data for the visualization of 3D models on the web.

The goal of the research is to study and define an integrated methodology that organizes the data that acquired during the study of the object by open source systems. This integrated methodology will be aid to the knowledge and to the virtual reconstruction of the original colour obtained from scientific studies.

In particular the research activity will be organizes:

- 3D scanning of the object of interest, processing of data and 3D model creations;

- Test and creation of reliable colour reconstructions;

- Creation of systems for the visual presentation (both locally and network) of 3D models with historical, scientific and technical information concerning the polychromy and history of the object.
