Application of neutron diffraction and transmission to the micro-structural characterization of metal artifacts of historical and artistic interest

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The characterization of metal artifacts by non-invasive techniques is an important requirement in the field of Cultural Heritage and can provide information on the composition and micro-structural features of metallic items, their technology of manufacturing and conservation state. This project will use techniques recently introduced in the field of Cultural Heritage such as neutron diffraction in time of flight (TOF-ND) and Bragg Edge neutron transmission (BENT), which have not yet reached a well-standardized level of development. The aim of this project is therefore the refinement of these experimental techniques in collaboration with centers and research groups located in various European and non-European countries.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
