"Two quantitative models related to two cases of study (Strait of Sicily and Adriatic Sea, respectively) and to two fisheries systems carried out with towed gears. In the first case (Strait of Sicily), the description and the forecast, in space and time, of the dynamics and status of the main commercial stocks in terms of recruitment, standing stock and fishing mortality, as function of the changes in ecological factors and fishing effort, will be realized. A bio-economic analysis, aimed to evaluate economics (gain, revenues, and catches) and biological (on the stocks) effects with respect to different scenarios of fishing effort will be carried out. Such analysis will be aimed to detect and develop optimal scenarios to protect the fisheries systems in its biological, economis, social and juridical components.
