The epic through the prism of Soviet literature. The Red Leo Tolstoy project (20s-50s).

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The research program aims to frame the evolution of the epic genre in Soviet literature by analysing the genesis and development of a "literary project" that has spanned four decades of Soviet literary history: the "Krasny Leo Tolstoy" (Red Leo Tolstoy). The research focuses on the analysis of a symbolic phenomenon of Soviet literary culture, the myth of the "popular epic". In this the light of this perspective the "Red Leo Tolstoy" project embodies a paradigmatic model: the creation of a Soviet "War and Peace".

The aim of the project is to outline a "literary history" of the "Red Leo Tolstoy" which follows all stages and developments from the Twenties to the Fifties.

The project aims to develop a double methodological approach by combining the historical research and the critical-philological study of literary texts.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
