Remote sensing of forest leaf N concentration and site fertility

Please note that the job is no longer active!

Foliar N concentration represents an effective indicator of site fertility and forest potential productivity. Recent developments in airborne and satellite optical remote sensing offer new opportunities for its remote assessment, so providing useful information for forest monitoring and for the parameterization of biogeochemical models.
Three available datasets will be used for the evaluation of these techniques, using multi- and hyperspectral imagery from airborne or satellite platforms:
- data from the Sen3Exp campaign funded in 2009 by the European Space Agency;
- data from the Forest Inventory of Catalunia;
- data from the Forest Inventory of the Province of Trento (CARBOMONT).
The successful candidate will have previous experience in the application of GIS, image analysis and atmospheric correction software.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
