http://www.unimib.it/link/news.jsp?517342689816589424 this activity aims at developing efficient, solution processed, solid-state lighting sources (SSL) based on a new generation of advanced colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals. To achieve this goal, we will combine two emerging design strategies for the control of the electronic structure of NC, namely doping and wavefunction engineering. We will adapt existing synthesis routes and develop new approaches for their integration in polymer composites for optimized emission effiency, color purity and stability. We will investigate the photophysical mechanisms underpinning the light emission performances by advanced spectroscopic methods and will fabricate light emitting devices based on the optimized materials.
