Monitoring of mercury at a high altitude alpine site

Please note that the job is no longer active!

Mercury is released into the atmosphere by a series of anthropogenic and

natural sources. The most important anthropogenic sources are fossil fuels, foundries,

cement production and fossil fuel burning. To cover the lack of information on the global

cycle of mercury, a global observation network has been created to coordinate mercury

monitoring (GMOS. Global Mercury Observation System). This network will be able to

obtain information of the various chemical species of mercury in air and during wet and

dry deposition. The scope of the present project is to carry out long term measurements of mercury at

an altitude high enough to allow sampling of the background tropospheric level.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
