Despite the high prevalence of mild cognitive impairment of vascular origin (VMCI) in the elderly, and the increased risk of developing dementia, no drug treatment is available to prevent dementia in those patients, and a prevention strategy based on cognitive rehabilitation would be of primary importance. The main aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of a cognitive rehabilitation program on the functionality in activities of daily living, particularly an improvement in attention performance, and on the reduction of the short-term risk of transition to dementia
