The research project aims to develop a technology based on the use of heterogeneous catalysts to reduce the organic load, the content of phyto-toxic and bio-recalcitrant substances and thus increase the biodegradability of waste waters coming from productive activities such as manufacturing and processing industries operating in the agri-food sector.
The main objective of the research project is to develop an oxidant treatment in presence of air and carbon-based heterogeneous catalysts capable of operating at low temperature (≤ 80 ° C), and low pressure (≤ 1.5 atm). Main attention is paid on the ability of the catalyst to degrated organic compounds to CO2 with an high degree of conversion (> 80%).
