Marie Curie Actions funded fellowship Marie-Curie ITN AMBER Early Stage Researcher (PhD) and Experienced researcher (Postdoc) positions in Molecular Bacteriology

AMBER is setup to provide a comprehensive, timely and multidisciplinary training in microbiology for young European researchers, 8 Early Stage Researchers and 2 Experienced Researchers. We have brought together 9 EU partners and 1 associated partner, including 3 companies. We will investigate an important and multifaceted bacterial problem: the intertwinement of central carbon metabolism and main cellular processes. The model system that we will use is the bacterium B. subtilis. The network comprises of 9 full partners (7 academic and 2 industrial) and 1 associate partner.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates should comply with the rules for Marie Curie early-stage researchers. One of these rules is that the fellows to be appointed must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the host organisation's country for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the appointment date. Short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.

Selection process

Within this international training programme, we will investigate the influence of central carbon metabolism on important cellular processes in the bacterial model system Bacillus subtilis, including cell division, stress management, cell wall synthesis, metabolic regulation, metal homeostasis, DNA replication, secondary metabolite production, RNA processing, metabolomics and enzyme
production. This multidisciplinary project provides a unique training environment for ambitious early-stage researchers. Training in transferable skills. Training in secondments, visits and collaboration with both the academic and industrial partners. This all will prepare the researchers for both a successful career in academia as well as in the private sector.

Promising candidates will be interviewed on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information how to apply also look at www.amber-itn.eu
