Analysis of the potential of material sterilization and decontamination from pathogens with atmospheric pressure non equilibrium plasmas

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The research focus will be the verification of decontamination and sterilization assisted by at atmospheric pressure not-thermal plasmas. In particular, tests will be carried out in order to verify the effect that every single constituent of plasma (UV rays, reactive species, charged species and electromagnetic field) has in the process of decontamination, finding synergies between various components. Correlations between plasma operating conditions and decontamination/sterilization effect on materials will also be analyzed and enucleated. Validation of the use of aqueous solutions exposed to plasma as decontaminant/sterilizer will be also verified. The recovery of ancient artifacts (made in paper, metals or other materials) will be performed: plasma assisted bacteria and fungi decontamination of manufacts will be verified, and also without any damage for the treated material.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
