Modelling wave structure interaction in case of multi-purpose coastal and harbour defences

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The protection of coasts and harbours from flooding and erosion, taking into account both the effects of climate change and the environmental conservation, is a great challenge for researchers and coastal managers.
An innovative and sustainable technology is represented by the installation of wave energy converter systems inside existing breakwaters. To optimize the design of such devices, an accurate analysis of wave-structure interaction processes, with special attention paid to wave run-up and wave overtopping processes and to wave loads is needed.
Since laboratory experiments are affected by scale-effects, and since prototype tests are expensive, numerical modeling could reveal to be a valid tool, if air entrainment and wind effects are adequately implemented.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
