"Children on the move" between vulnerabilities, rights and security discourses

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The education plan aims at analyzing an issue that has been less considered than others in the field of migration studies, that is the criticalities connected to the growing involvement of children and young adults in indipendent migration. Excluded from the social contract, children are very often not recognized in their autodetermination potential as well as in their participation skills. In this light, the comprehension and relation with migrant children becomes extremely difficult, as well as the designing of migration policies able to protect their specific rights. In this context, the education plan aims at discussing in particular: the evolution, in the political and juridical theory, of the contemporary Western conception of childhood and adolescence, the debate on children's rights and vulnerabilities, the security discourses that inform and orient migration policies.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
