The requested Post-doc position is funded in the frame of a research project that concerns the development of an innovative therapeutic approach toward the treatment of the Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Specifically, the research to be developed concerns the biological evaluation, with a cellular model, of newly synthesized molecules in relationship with the actvity of chaperones. Will be investigated the effect of perspective drugs on the aggregation of Aβ peptide in a cell culture model, using three relevant cell lines, before and after inhibition of the expression of three of the most important Heat Shock Proteins (Hsp60, Hsp70, and Hsp90), chaperones widely involved in the Alzeheimer’s disease. In order to silence the expression of Hsp60, Hsp70, and Hsp 90 genes, a pool of small interfering RNA oligomers (siRNA) will be used. Moreover will be conducted tests in order to analyze the internalization and the localization of Aβ aggregates in the cell culture models.
