The Research Program deals with the analysis, identification of design, development and testing of specific sensors for the detection of hydrocarbons in marine waters.
The Program requires different types of sensors, some simple, commercial availability, and others completely new to be developed to measure. In particular, the most important measure is the measure of the amount of hydrocarbons floating on water, which allows to go back in real time to the amount of wool to be issued in order to ensure optimum management, not in defect or in excess, to perform the function capture the hydrocarbon pollutants.
Such measures are difficult considering the hostile environment, bearing in mind also explosion and fire regulations.
