The research project focuses on the relationship between theoretical knowledge and teaching practices; that is, between pedagogical and didactic knowledge (both from a general and a disciplinary point of view) – as it is acquired in the Active Formative Training (AFT) – and the professional practice as it emerges during training activities in the classroom.
Theoretical frameworks, educational models and devices – derived from general as well as from disciplinary didactics – will be taken into consideration and adapted in order to analyze both the work of the trainee and the work of the teacher/trainer in the AFT course. This investigation will be conducted according to the “clinic of activity” approach, using techniques like simple and crossed self-comparison. The aim is to understand “what actually happens” in didactic situations so as to gather constants and regularities useful to create models of the teaching/learning processes.
